Review of Long Black Veil by Jennifer Finney Boylan

The story is more than just the murder that took place 35 years earlier. It is about knowing who you are and the consequences of each action. 35 years ago 6 friends, a brother and a teacher go into an abandon prison the day after Casey and Wailer get married. Wailer goes missing and the story unfolds over the next 3.5 decades. The novel is rich in detail and pulls you into the world. You quickly find sorrow for some, an understanding of the choice of one and reasonable guilt of others. All in all as the author points out who done it & you go along with it, she twists it just one more time! Highly enjoyable & highly recommended.

Review of The Build by Paul Teutul Jr.

I always enjoyed watching American Choppers though admittedly I did not watch ever season and never knew that Paul Jr. had been fired from the show. I love motorcycles and have many family members & friends that ride. With that being said it was most likely the reason that I started watching the show, but I continued watching the show to see what custom bike would be made. The intense family fued between “senior & “junior” was drama gold for such a reality show. The sqeaky clean, we all love one another family link would not have worked. Reading this book pulled back the curtain even further & pulled me into the Teutul world & to the time when I watched all the drama unfold. Hearing the stories & seeing the pictures of the bikes brought it all into view. Though even to this day the relationship between father & son is still shaky, one can only hope that the title of this book The Build can also pertain to a rebuilding of the family that has long been shattered. I considered this book as an in between book.
What I mean by that is, as I find when reading most Biographies/Autobiography that I just can't delve into a persons life with as much gusto as a fictional character. Even when reading about one of my favorite actors this happens. My mind likes to form its own opinions and thoughts of a character.
Even with this in mind I still tried to get into this book. A strong female who's life could have been like one of the movies you would see coming out of the Hollywood she made her groundbreaking career.
The book is a must for those movie and biography lovers out there, for us fiction lovers it is the tug back into the real world, even for a short time before the reality had to go away!

All the recipes were simple enough to make without any ingredients that made you would have to google to find out what it was.
With the chicken section I did switch up the recipes a bit since I was not going to eat a whole chicken, I substituted chicken breast & off I went.
As far as the seafood section I have no recommendation as I hate seafood. Sorry you are on your own on this one.
Either way, if you are looking for some new ideas for the staples in your diet this book would be worth picking up

I waited to post my review of this book for the fact that the book is broken down to each chapter equals one week.
Hence 52 weeks in a year.
With that being said I did read further so that I could honestly review the book and just thought I would come back to the chapter to do the exercise on the week needed.
They are short little exercises that make you take the world you are in and wash away what you don't want.
Meditation is something you need to do and you have to want to do.
It's looking inside of you, truly taking the time to do it, and seeing what you don't want.
Everyone meditates in some way without realizing it .   That extra breath you take to calm yourself down so you don't scream or unleash at a situation is a part of meditation.
This book helps you focus on a different part each week from chapters that start with the Art of Meditation, to the Art of doing nothing, to everyday things of dealing with money, being a parent and finding your confidence and ending the year open to the possibilities that make you happy.
The world is sad enough at times and stress plays a deviststing role in it. Those around us tell us to just cut stress out like it's a loose string off of a shirt.
This book gives you the option to take even the littlest amount of time to right your world and feel happy about it.

Slow go

When I picked this book as my next reviewable I thought it was interesting.
It ended up being a slow read and I became disinterested several times during my reading.
But then the next instant I would find something that pulled me back in. However those instances did not come enough and I was back to barely wanting to pick up the book.

Quick & Yummy

When I ordered this book I originally thought it was all slow cooker meals but it wasn't.
Either way I still did find them quick and full of flavor.
I missed the first book of this so I was glad when this became available.
I would recommend this to anyone that wants home cooked meals that are healthier and do not take much time to prepare.
When I come home from work I really do not want to take time to cook so if it's a quick prep or better yet something that could be prepped before hand I am all about it!
